Ricardo Rangel is a Florida state representative, representing the 43rd district. He is a member of the Democratic Party.

Eduation and personal life

Rangel is a first-generation American, and the first in his family to go to college.[1] Rangel has a master's of science management from Warner University.[2]

Rangel has volunteered for United We Paint and the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.[1]

Career

Rangel served 12 years in the army as a finance manager.[1]

Rangel serves on the Local & Federal Affairs Committee, the State Affairs Committee, the Government Operations Appropriations Subcommittee, the Government Operations Subcommittee, and the Veteran & Military Affairs Subcommittee.[2]

Rangel listed his priorities as veteran mental health issues and ensuring that students can meet the requirements of Florida's Bright Futures scholarship.[1] Rangel criticized the rising test scores required to get Bright Futures scholarship, arguing it would disproportionately hurt minorities and low-income Floridians.[3]
