Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund

The Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (abbreviated RMV) is an organised transport network in the German state of Hesse and the city of Mainz, Rhineland-Palatinate, centred around the city of Frankfurt am Main. Its head office is located in Hofheim im Taunus. It is currently the second largest transport network in terms of area covered (coming 2nd to the Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg) and was the largest in the world at the time of its foundation in 1995.

The RMV is a transportation association operated by 15 counties, 11 independent cities and the Bundesland of Hesse. Its area covers large parts of Southern Hesse, Central Hesse and parts of Eastern Hesse. The Frankfurter Verkehrsverbund (FVV), covering the Rhine-Main area, was incorporated into the RMV.

It manages investment in and fares for the Frankfurt U-Bahn and the Rhein-Main S-Bahn.
