Reza Haghighi (Persian: رضا حقیقی, born 1 February 1989[1]) is an Iranian Football Midfielder, who currently plays for Persepolis in Iran's Premier Football League and also Iran national football team as a Defensive Midfielder.

Club career

Payam

Haghighi started his career with Payam. He made debut for Payam as 10 November 2006 while he has 16 years & 303 days old.[2]

Fajr Sepasi

He joined Fajr Sepasi in summer 2009.[3] He was chosen by Mahmoud Yavari as the club Captain before starting of the 12th Iranian Premier League.[4][5] As of the August 2012, He named Asian Best player of month by Goal.com Asia.[6]

Perspolis

In summer 2012, Persepolis tried to acquire Haghighi but Fajr Sepasi rejected Persepolis's undisclosed bid (reported €220,000)[7] and he had to stay at Fajr Sepasi.[8] Ultimately, during mid-season transfer window of 12th Iranian Premier League, the two teams reached an agreement on his transfer terms and Haghighi joined Persepolis on November 21, 2012. He signed a 2.5 year contract until end of 2014–15 season.[9][10]He made debut for Persepolis in 6–0 win against Malavan in 2012–13 Hazfi Cup Round of 32.[11] He scored his first goal for Persepolis from penalty kick in match against Saipa on 28 February 2013.[12]

On 12 February 2012, he was named in Iran squad by Carlos Queiroz and was made his debut in match against Jordan on 23 February 2012.[13]
