The service works similarly to other lead generation web sites such as BuyerZone, LendingTree and ServiceMagic.
In February 2011, Resource Nation announced the acquisition of Business.com.[1] Business.com allows purchasers to find and connect with businesses across thousands of products and services. Combined, the companies have more than 10,000 customers and support more than 20 million purchasers from buyers in small-to-medium sized enterprises.
Resource Nation also produces free how-to guides,[2] downloadable business forms, and other articles and guides on business and entrepreneurial topics.[3]
The site also has been launched as co-branded programs offered by major online business communities and publishers, including Entrepreneur.com, Dell, StartUpNation.com, and Inc.com.

In February, 2011, Resource Nation acquired Business.com [4] As part of the transaction, JMI Equity General Partner Peter Arrowsmith and Vice President David Greenberg have joined Resource Nation's Board of Directors.
