Republica is the self-titled debut album, released on 5 October (UK and Europe),[citation needed] 30 July 1996[2] (US) by the band Republica. The album was released on the Deconstruction (UK and Europe) and on the RCA (US) record labels.

Chart position

  • Republica reached #4[3] in the UK Album Charts.
  • Propelled by the first single, "Ready to Go" and its music video, the album was number nine on Billboard's Heatseeker Chart and was climbing the Top 200 Album Chart. The video for "Ready to Go" also received extensive airplay on MTV. The second single, the tongue-in-cheek "Drop Dead Gorgeous" was soon serviced to radio stations.
  • Ready to Go was featured in TV spots for the film Hackers (1995) but not featured in the film nor the soundtrack.
  • "Ready to Go" was featured on the soundtrack of Getting There, as well as Vegas Vacation.
  • The single Drop Dead Gorgeous is featured in the movie Scream, in the party scene just before Rose McGowan's character is killed.
