Rejith Menon (born in Trichur, Kerala, India), is an Indian film actor. He made his debut in 2007 through the Malayalam film Goal.[3]

Personal life

Rejith Menon did his schooling in Abu Dhabi Model School. He then completed his B.E Mechancial Engg from St. Joseph's College, Chennai and later did his MBA in HR from Sikkim Manipal University, Manipal.[4]

He is a trained dancer and has a black belt in Karate.[5]

Career

Rejith Menon debuted in films, by acting in Malayalam film Goal. Being a passionate movie buff he went onto see the film shooting of Kamal's Karutha Pakshikal, which was shot in Trichur, Rejith's hometown. There amidst the crowd he was handpicked by Sugith (who was an assistant to Kamal) and was later referred by him to play the lead role in Kamal's Goal.[6] He received the "Asianet Best New Face Award" for this film.[7] Even though, he only worked in seven films in a span of five years, he was cast to do the lead role in films directed by I.V. Sasi, Joshiy, Kamal, Rajasenan and T.K. Rajeevkumar. He had shot for a Tamil film, the Ilaiyaraaja musical Kangalum Kavipaaduthey in 2007,[8] which did not get a theatrical release.

In 2013, he was seen in Up & Down: Mukalil Oralundu which received good reviews and Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus that had him play a prominent role along with Mammootty.[9] He had played the antagonist role in Rose Guitarinaal [10] and The Hindu stated that he was "one slightly positive element with his negative-shaded character".[11] He made his Tamil film debut in 2014 with Vikraman's Ninaithathu Yaaro in which he played an assistant director.[12]

He has made a six-minute musical short film titled Love Policy with Aju Varghese and Shritha Sivadas in the lead.[13]
