Reincarnated is a documentary film about the musician Snoop Dogg's explorations of reggae and Rastafarian culture, and his transformation into Snoop Lion. It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 7, 2012, and was released to theaters March 21, 2013.[1] It is a companion film to his 12th studio album, Reincarnated.[2] The film was shot by Andy Capper of Vice Magazine.[3][4]

Production

Capper followed Snoop Dogg around Jamaica for a month in 2012, filming him meeting with Bunny Wailer, smoking marijuana, and recording the companion album. Snoop Dogg had asked Vice Films to participate, as according to Capper, "...Snoop is a big fan of our stuff. He'd seen documentaries I'd made before like The Vice Guide to Liberia and Swansea Love Story. He'd seen Heavy Metal in Baghdad."
