Reichswald

A Reichswald (English: Imperial forest) designates a historic woodland under imperial protection and usage in the lands of the former Holy Roman Empire. It may refer to:

  • Nuremberg Reichswald — an old cultivated forest with 25,000 hectares (62,000 acres) near Nuremberg, which is today a nature reserve.
  • Klever Reichswald — a forest of 5,100 hectares (13,000 acres) near Kleve, where the WWII battle Operation Veritable took place.
  • Reichswald (Rhineland-Palatinate) — a nature reserve in Rodenbach, Rhineland-Palatinate.
