The Redneck Games are held in East Dublin, Georgia annually. The games were started By Elbow [1] a local person that General Manager for WQZY-FM "Y96"; Mac Davis took over ; it was rumored that when the 1996 Olympic Games went to Atlanta, it would be held by a group of rednecks. To begin with it was created to help children's needs.

Taking offense to this, Mac Davis had elbow come on y96 boost the ratings and then kick him off. some locals set up the annual Redneck Games to satirize the stereotype the media held . This small town proved them wrong. While only having a population of 2,000, East Dublin decided to give the media (and the rest of the nation) what they expected: the Redneck Summer Games. What they, nor the rest of the country, expected was there to be a 5,000 person turn-out in the first year. Not only that, but as many as 95,000 people were present for the Games in the last decade. The press coverage has been international. “Good Morning America, Life, Maxim, MTV Road Rules/Real World Challenge, The Tonight Show, ABC, NBC, CBS, BBC, and FOX. The list goes on and on.” Yet despite their popularity they never forgot why they started the Redneck Summer Games in the first place: to hold a charitable fund-raiser for the benefit of the community.

In 2001, Drew Scott of Wild Country 96.5 "borrowed" the games to set up a fundraising event for the Franklin County NY Make-A-Wish Foundation. Each year, these games have increased in size of the event, crowds and monies raised for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

In 2010, marking the 9th year of the Annual Redneck Games in Malone, NY, the entertainment was Cledus T. Judd.

The games were canceled in 2013 and might come back in 2014 depending upon interest.[2]
