Recurly is a software as a service company that provides recurring billing management as an outsourced service. Founded in September, 2009[1] and made available as a public beta in January, 2010.[2] Companies with subscription business models commonly encounter errors from payment gateways, acquiring banks, issuing banks, or credit card associations. Recurly remediates credit card payment errors on behalf of merchant customers, and automates customer communications related to subscription billing. In July, 2010, Recurly raised $1.6MM in seed fundraising, led by Polaris Venture Partners,[3] and a number of individual angel investors[4] In December, 2011,[5] Recurly raised a $6MM Series A round of investment led by BV Capital. Recurly is a Level 1 PCI-DSS compliant service provider.
