Reads Landing is an unincorporated community in section 24 of Pepin Township, Wabasha County, Minnesota, United States.[1]
History
Reads Landing was platted in 1856 as Pepin, although that name was never officially used. Around 1878, the town had various commercial and transportation buildings, but later those businesses moved to Wabasha.[2] The post office began in 1850 and still operates today.[3] At one time, Reads Landing was considered a possible site for the Minnesota State Capitol.[4]
The old Reads Landing School Building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, houses the Wabasha County Museum.[5]
