Razole or Rajolu is a village in Konaseema and mandal in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, India.[1] Razole is part of the scenic Konaseema region of Andhra Pradesh. The village is surrounded by the river Vashishta (Godavari) and is known for its coconut and palm trees.
Several Tollywood directors choose to work there, and movies like Ladies Tailor, Chanti, Kabaddi Kabaddi, and Vinayakudu were shot in and around Razole. The well-known resort of Dindi is located in Razole at the banks of the river Godavari.
This village is the birthplace of Sheri. B. Suryanarayana Murthy Garu, the renowned journalist, poet, six-term Parliamentarian (only MP from the south) and Health Minister in the Nehru cabinet.
Novelist Yandamuri Veerendranath, actress Anjali, actor Krishnudu, Shanmuk Muliki, directors Sukumar, Akrosh, Prakash Tholeti, and prominent businessman NCC Founder AVS Raju are from this area.
There are famous pilgrim locations around Razole, such as Appanapalli and Antarvedhi. Appanapalli is famous for the Lord Bala Balaji Temple. This was the first temple to start giving out free meals to the devotees. Antarvedhi is famous for the Lakshmi Narasimha Temple and the Antarvedhi Teertham festival is celebrated annually.
Razole presents a mixture of rural and urban culture.
There are multiple temples in Razole - Lord Balaji Old and Lord Balaji New Temple, Lord Siva Temple in the center of the village, and Kanakadurgamma Temple and Grama Devatha Temple in Central Market.
There are several public schools, including primary and upper primary. There is also a public college in Razole. Razole is one of the Assembly Constituencies. The current MLA is Rapaka Vara Prasad from the Indian National Congress.
There are several famous private medical hospitals in Razole including Raju Heart Hospital, Gopala Krishna ENT and eye Hospital. There is also a public hospital which is situated near the central market.
