Ray Best was the 27th head football coach for the Doane College Tigers located in Crete, Nebraska and he held that position for five seasons, from 1971 until 1975. His coaching record at Doane was 35 wins, 12 losses, and 3 ties. As of the conclusion of the 2007 season, this ranks him fourth at Doane in total wins and third at Doane in winning percentage (.730).[1]
