Ravikant SriKrishna Tripathi (Born:4 February 1978) popularly known as Ravi Tripathi is an Indian playback singer based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He was amongst top 7 finalists of music reality show Indian Idol 2 and anchored singing reality show Close-Up-Performer telecast on Doordarshan. He represented India and performed with Hollywood star Jackie Chan in the 16th Asian Games 2010 Countdown show held in Guangzhou, China.[1]
Early life
Ravi is born into a Hindu Brahmin family of Uttar Pradesh. His father SriKrishna Tripathi is a retired Government officer, India.Music is in his blood, his maternal grand father Pandit Rajpati Shastri was an accomplished singer. Ravi learnt his first lesson of music from his mother at the tender age of four. Ravi got his basic education at Pratapgarh, where his school teachers recognized his singing talent and under their guidance he participated at state level competitions and won gold medals for 6 consecutive years.[2]
After completing his graduation in Social Work from the Lucknow University, he decided to come down to Mumbai to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a singer much against his father’s wishes. In Mumbai, Ravi met eminent Music Director Ravindra Jain and Singer Suresh Wadkar. They recognized his talent and there began his musical journey in Bollywood. He became a part of the Ajivasan Gurukul and started leaning under the able guidance of Suresh Wadkar.

Career
Ravi made his debut into films with the song ‘India se aaya tere dost’ from the movie Chandni Chowk To China starring Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone. He has anchored DD-1’s musical reality show Close-up Performer. After veteran actor director Raj Kapoor, Ravi Tripathi proved to be the most popular in China and has done more than 50 shows all over the country. Ravi Tripathi is doing a show on Radio -Fever 104 FM every wednesday from 9 to 11 am with Rj Anuraag Pandey( Picture Pandey) where he sings live the songs of listener s choice. Prog s name is "MUSICAL WEDNESDAY WITH RAVI TRIPATHI
Ravi has been singing for various TV serials like Ramayan NDTV Imagine, Shiridi Saibaba and Jai Maa Durga on Star Plus, Samandair on Zee TV and Aapa telecasts on ETV. The Aarti of 'Sai baba' serial 'Oum Jai Sai Nath' sung by Ravi tripathi and Pamela jain is very popular.
He has sung the title song of Album "More Krishna" (Worldwide Records). The other singers of the album are Roop kumar rathod, Sadhna Sargam, Sudesh Bhosle and Vijay Batlvi.
Ravi after anchoring in TV shows and performing in various musical shows on tha national and international level has been signed as lead actor for writer director Ravi H Kashyap’s (Raja Ji fame) new Bhojpuri musical feature film Khel Taqdeer Ke. He is paired opposite Anjana Singh. The film is being made under the banner of Essence Entertainment, music & lyrics by Sujeet Chaubey. Songs have been rendered by Ravi Tripathi himself along with Tripti Shakya and Vinod Rathod.
Asian Games 2010

Ravi Tripathi represented India and performed with Hollywood star Jackie Chan in the 16th Asian Games 2010 Countdown show held in Guangzhou, China.The ceremony was held at Guangzhou Gymnasium in China on May 27, 2010. A total of 45 Asian countries participated in the 16th Asian Games 2010. Tripathi represented India at the ceremony. The event was divided in three chapters, “Fervent Expectation’, “Colorful Asia’ and “Hospitable Invitation’. Ravi Tripathi was a part of “Colorful Asia’ giving a performance on the well known number of A R Rahman “Jai ho’ from Slumdog Millionaire. Entire audience present at the event enjoyed every bit of his act.
Jackie Chan, the promotional Ambassador of the show appreciated Ravi for his singing and said "I watched Ravi singing, performing and mesmerizing the crowd here. He is incredible.". The show ended on a good note with all the artist from across Asia performed together at the stage with Jackie Chan.

Ravi Tripathi's music album Baatein was launched on 24 March 2009 in the presence of talented singers such as Jagjit Singh, Madhushree, Suresh Wadkar, Sonu Nigam.
Another Album of Ravi is Sri Siddhivinayak Morya ( Worldwide Records )which was launched by Shri Anoop Jalota.
