Raphael Shore

Raphael Shore is a Canadian-Israeli film writer,^[1] producer, and rabbi. He is the founder of The Clarion Fund, a non-profit organization that seeks to "educate Americans about issues of national security".

Early life and education

Shore is the twin brother of Ephraim Shore, the former head of HonestReporting^[2] and younger brother of television producer and writer David Shore.^{[citation needed]}

Career

Shore previously worked for Aish HaTorah,^[3][2] an Orthodox organization devoted to promoting Jewish learning, and has collaborated with its sub-organization, HonestReporting, a pro-Israel media watchdog site run by his brother Ephraim.

Film producer

In 2010, Shore self-released the documentary film, Crossing the Line: The Intifada Comes to Campus.^[4][5]

Shore wrote and produced the documentary films Relentless: The Struggle for Peace in the Middle East, Obsession: Radical Islam’s War Against the West, The Third Jihad: Radical Islam's Vision for America, and IRANIUM.

Shore's anti-Islam documentary, Obsession, became a controversial part of the 2008 United States presidential campaign when he distributed copies of it to 28 million voters in U.S. swing states in an apparent attempt to convince them of the dangers of Muslims in the run-up to the election.^[1] Shore has declined to reveal who funded both the production of the film or dissemination of the DVDs.^[1]

Shore produced the 2012 documentary Israel Inside: How a Small Nation Makes a Big Difference, narrated by Tal Ben-Shahar. The film explores dimensions of Israeli history and society that tend not to be addressed in mainstream coverage of the country.^[6]

Jerusalem Online U.

In 2007 Shore founded the unaccredited Jerusalem Online U., an educational portal offering classes on Israel, positive psychology, Judaism and cinema.^[7] Jerusalem Online U. speakers include Tal Ben-Shahar and Tzvi Gluckin.
