Ranipur is a town in Sindh, Pakistan.

History

It was established before the Kalhora reign of Sindh (1701 to 1783 AD). A unique city between two canals Rohri canal on east and Abul canal on west.Rani means queen it is said that name of city is based on one of princess of Darya Khan who rules Thatta. It become famous first time in British occupation when an anti khilafat movement was operated from Ranipur city by the Pir's of the city to protect the interest of British Raj occupation in Sindh and South Asia. In Movement for Restoration of Democracy it become famous again when a peaceful protest was fired by the government agencies, Army and Police in Martial Law of notorious dictator General Zia ul Haq in which Mahitab Ali Bhellar s/o Jeal Khan Bhellar was took (expired) during the MRD movement at Ranipur. Ranipur is a main town and Union Council of the Khairpur District of Sindh province, Pakistan.[1]

Educational Institutes Government Primary Boys School Ranipur was established in 1892 AD. Government High School Ranipur was founded in 1939, . Government Girls Primary School, Sachal Sarmast Degree College and Government Girls Degree College Ranipur are prime institute of city. Private sector, Ever shine College, Mazhar Muslim Model School College, Bahria Foundation College, Yasier Public High School, and Mehran Public High School are famous.It is third main city of Khairpur District after Gambat.

The city is surrounded by the villages of tribes like Jamra, Juneja, Tagar, Brohi, Bhellar, kalhora, abbasi, Wateni Sarki, Shahani, Wasan, solangi and ghangra which often involveed in fetal conflicts with each other after brief episodes of peace. Before partition of South Asia the commerce was controlled mostly by the local Hindus. They were forced to leave the city; Sindh slowly and gradually after the influx of Muslim refuges.

Culture

Shrines. Few shrines make it popular in the country.There are shrine of Saleh Shah and Hajran shah famous as Bodelo Bahar. Nowadays this city is famous for the numerous Gates, 1. Babe Dastageer, 2. Babe Sachal Sarmast, 3. Babe Bodela, 4. Babe Saleh Sha, 5. Babe abdul Jabbar Sha. Pure milk of Ranipur " Sharif Bhellar dairy forms ".

In present days this city is famous for its numerous gates, 1. Babe Dategeer, 2. Babe Sachal Sarmast, 3. Babe Bodela, 4. Babe abdul Jabar Sha, 5. Babe saleh Sha.

Ranipur sugar mill is a famous landmark in Pakistan. It has large source of lime stone in the district. It is also famous pure milk of Bhellar family dairy forms "Sharif dairy forms".

Transportation

Ranipur is located at kilometre marker 413 on the main N-5 National Highway. 1 kilometer at daraza sharif where is tomb of Sachal Sarmast a famous Sufi poet of Sind. Ranipur is heart of khairpur district and center of education of district.There are very famous institutes of sindh in ranipur like Mazahar Muslim Model Higher Secondary School Ranipur(was founded by Sir Qurban Ali Memon),Mehran Public School Ranipur and Ever Shine college Ranipur, Bahria college Ranipur, where students come from every corner of Sindh.
