Ralph Norris
Sir Ralph James Norris KNZM HFIITP (born 1949) was the Chief Executive Officer of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia until 30/11/2011. A New Zealander, he was previously CEO of the ASB Bank, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia's New Zealand subsidiary. He left this role for several years to be the CEO of Air New Zealand before leaving to head the CBA.
Prior to being CEO at the ASB Bank he was Chief Information Officer.
Sir Ralph is also an Honorary Fellow of the New Zealand Computer Society (HFNZCS) [1]
Ralph Norris is also an Ambassador of the Australian Indigenous Education Foundation.
Education
Ralph Norris was formally educated at Lynfield College where he completed his high school education.
He has no formal tertiary qualification.
Honors and awards
In The New Year Honours 2006 Norris was appointed a Distinguished Companion of The New Zealand Order of Merit for services to business.[2] In the Special Honours 2009 Norris accepted the government offer to redesignate his DCNZM to a Knight Companion of The New Zealand Order of Merit.[3][4]
