Rajiv Satav

Rajiv Satav (born 21 September 1974) is the present President of the Indian Youth Congress. A MLA from Kalamnuri in Maharashtra, he replaced Ashok Tanwar. Before occupying the prestigious position of president of Indian Youth Congress, he was president of Maharashtra Youth Congress.

He has the distinction of wresting the Assembly seat in Marathwada region from the Shiv Sena after 20 years in the 2009 elections.[1] A lawyer by training, Satav was inducted into the Youth Congress a year and a half ago in a wing called Aam Aadmi Ka Sipahi which especially works with the downtrodden.[2]

  • 1993 Participated in National Integrity Seminar in Panchmadi in Madya Pradesh organized by Ministry of Human Resource , GOI.
  • 1994 Participated in the Independence Day Parade at Rajpat in New Delhi.
  • 2006 General Secretary Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress.
  • 2002 to 2007 Member, Panchayat Samiti, Kalamnuri.
  • 2007 Member and President of Agriculture , Animal Husbandry and Milk Development Committee of Hingoli Zilla Parishad, during this tenure started the “Krushiratna ” award here.
  • During 2007-2008 successfully organized Youth Convention for the Swami Ramanand Tirth Marathwad University in Kalamnuri youth from more than 100 colleges participated in this.
  • Successful executed government schemes like Nirmal Gram Krushi Yojana, Ekatmik Balvikas Yojana for the benefit of the common man.
  • 2008 President Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress.
  • 2008 Executive Committee Member, Marathwada Agriculture University.
  • 2008 Member Senate Swami Ramanand Tirth Marathwada University, Nanded.
  • October 2009 elected to Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.
