Raivis Hščanovičs (born 15 February 1987 in Riga) is a Latvian professional footballer, who currently plays for Daugava Rīga in the Latvian Higher League.[1]

Career

Club

Hščanovičs began his career with top Latvian club Skonto FC in 2007. During his time with Skonto he went on a trial stint with the Polish side Lechia Gdansk. During the 2009 season Hščanovičs appeared in 26 league matches and scored 5 goals, while playing as a defender.[2] He also made his European debut for Skonto FC on 16 July 2009 in a Europa League second qualifying round match played against Derry City F.C.. During his time with the club he appeared in 50 league matches scoring 5 goals.

In March 2010 his contract expired with Skonto FC. He later joined Toronto FC.[3] He made his debut for Toronto in away loss to New England Revolution 10 April 2010. After making 17 appearances in all competitions in the 2010 season with Toronto he was released by the club on November 24.[4]

In March 2011 Hščanovičs signed a contract with FK Jūrmala-VV for the upcoming season. He played 20 games and scored 1 goal in season 2011.

In February 2012 Hščanovičs joined Latvian champions FK Ventspils, he signed a contract for the upcoming season. He played 16 league games and 2 cup games in season 2012.

Before the start of the season 2013 Hščanovičs joined Daugava Rīga.

International

On 7 October 2003 Hščanovičs debuted for the Latvia U-17 national team in a 1-1 draw with Greece. He has also played for the Latvia U-19 and Latvia U-21.
