Raising Genius (2004) is a comedy starring Justin Long, Wendie Malick, Ed Begley, Jr., Stephen Root, Danica McKellar, Mark DeCarlo, Tippi Hedren, Shirley Jones, Clint Howard, and Sam Huntington about the mother of a teenage genius who locks himself in the bathroom for three months to work out his formulas. She is frantic about her life and her son's choices. When she finally realizes they don't need her she is able to free herself and be happy.
