Railway Stakes (Australia)

The Railway Stakes is a WATC Group 1 1600 metre Thoroughbred horse race under handicap conditions. The race is held at Ascot Racecourse in Perth, Australia in November. Prizemoney was increased to $1 million in 2007.

Distance
- From 1894 to 1925 was run over 12 furlongs (approx. 2400 metres)
- From 1926 to 1973 was run over 8 furlongs (approx. 1600 metres)
- From 1974 to 1983 was run over 1500 metres
- 1984 to present 1600 metres
