Raigachhi is a census town under Rajarhat police station of Barasat sadar subdivision [1] in North 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[2] Raigachhi had a population of 6728. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Raigachhi has an average literacy rate of 55%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 58%, and female literacy is 52%. In Raigachhi, 16% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Healthcare

North 24 Parganas district has been identified as one of the areas where ground water is affected by arsenic contamination.[3]
