Rachel Nabors
Rachel Nabors (born March 9, 1985) is an American cartoonist, artist, and graphic novelist,[1] best known for her serialized comic, Rachel the Great, as well as her two graphic novels, 18 Revolutions and Crow Princess.
Early life
Nabors was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in 1985. She left public school in the fifth grade to be homeschooled, and began drawing comics seriously at age fifteen.
Career
Soon after her nineteenth birthday, Nabors self-published 18 Revolutions, the first American graphic novel ever made by a teenage girl for teenage girls. This was soon followed by Crow Princess. She also has self-published several mini-comics including A Brief History of Grifonton and Subculture of One: the Body Issues.
She formerly lived in Roanoke, Virginia, and made comics for gURL.com on a weekly basis until March 2008, when she got engaged and moved to North Carolina. She took her comics on hiatus while she straightened out an important jaw surgery. In summer 2010 she had said surgery with the assistance and support of her fans. She was scheduled to return to comicking as a hobby at RacheltheGreat.com in Spring 2011.
She also ran a banner exchange for comics by/for/about women at exchange.rubifruit.com as well as the manga review and news site MangaPunk.com. She now lives in Raleigh, North Carolina and works as a web designer.
