RIDGID is a brand name for a line of tools. Along with ClosetMaid and InSinkErator, it is part of the Commercial & Residential Solutions division of Emerson Electric Company.[1] RIDGID's product line includes outdoor power equipment, wet/dry vacs, power tools, and plumbing tools.[2]
RIDGID's orange tools, sold exclusively in North America at Home Depot, are made by TTI the parent company of Milwaukee, AEG, Ryobi power tools Homelite, Hoover, Dirt Devil, and Vax.[3] TTI was established in 1985 as the OEM for such brands as Craftsman, RIDGID, Mastercraft, and Bissell.[4] TTI makes all nearly all RIDGID benchtop, stationary, and hand-held tools in Taiwan or China.[5]
Products sold in North America branded as RIDGID's orange tools are branded as AEG elsewhere.[6][7]
RIDGID has produced a pinup calendar since 1935.[8] Early renditions featured the work of American pin-up artist George Petty. Models having appeared on the calendar include Raquel Welch and Brooke Burke.[9]
