Qdos Entertainment is one of the largest entertainment groups in Europe. Formed by Nick Thomas in 1986, it currently employs 800 full-time staff across its businesses.[1] The company’s administration centres are in London’s Covent Garden, Luton and Scarborough with scenic & costume facilities in Beverley and Scarborough.

Pantomimes

Qdos Entertainment is the world’s largest pantomime producer,[2] with over 575 productions over the last 30 years. In the 2013/2014 season it will produce 24 pantomimes.[3]

Theatres and hospitality

Qdos Entertainment’s subsidiary HQ Theatres & Hospitality Ltd is the second largest regional theatre operator in the UK.[4]

The company also operates restaurants, bars and coffee shops, along with corporate and private events and celebrations, both in all HQ Theatres and independently.[15]

HQ Theatres and Hospitality also owns and manages the award-winning[16] Copper Horse Restaurant & Cottages at Seamer near Scarborough, the Tanglewood Restaurant in York, and ‘The Restaurant@SJT’ within the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough.[17]

Artiste management

Qtalent is the name for the merger of the agencies International Artistes and JLM Personal Management. Qtalent along with its sister company, the voiceover agency Qvoice, looks after a number of high-profile performers and actors as well as many of the UK’s top writers, producers and directors.

Cruise ships and resorts

The company supplies productions to Celebrity Cruises, aboard the Millennium, Constellation, Infinity and Summit cruise ships. Wholly owned subsidiary TED Group is based in Luton and provides in resort concept and development, such as Sensatori which it created for TUI. TED Group works with Thomson Sensatori, First Choice Holiday Villages, Thomson Family Resorts, Park Resorts, Haven Holidays, Bourne Leisure, Grosvenor Casinos, Parkdean Holidays and numerous private park operators.

A subsidiary company called Adverset Media Solutions is based in Scarborough and provides design, new media and printing services to the commercial, tourism and entertainment industries, in tandem with Qdos Entertainment’s extensive in-house requirements.
