Qari Shakir Qasmi

Qari Shakir Qasmi (Urdu: قارى شاكر قاسمى), is one of the most renowned Qurra' (Qur'an reciters) of South Asia. He was the host of the program Iqra (Read) for children that provided lessons and exercises on properly reciting and pronouncing Qur'anic Arabic. This program aired and re-ran on the Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) from 1978 to 1985. It was latter hosted by Qari Khushi Mohammad Al-Azhari.
