The P'yŏngbu Line is an electrified standard-gauge trunk line of the North Korean State Railway running from P'yŏngyang to Kaesŏng.[1]
The line is the southern continuation of the P'yŏngŭi Line. It theoretically connects P'yŏngyang to Busan in South Korea but, in reality, it ends at Kaesong because of the Korean Demilitarized Zone. In 2007 the connection to South Korea via Dorasan was reopened, and for a number of years freight trains from the south to the Kaesŏng Industrial District and passenger trains to the Mount Kumgang Tourist Region were operated, but these have since been suspended.
