Puteri Indonesia 2011, the 16th Annual Puteri Indonesia beauty pageant, was held in Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta, Indonesia on October 7th 2011. Thirty eight contestants from all 33 provinces of Indonesia competed for the title of Puteri Indonesia, one of the most prominent beauty pageant titles in the country. Nadine Alexandra Dewi Ames, Puteri Indonesia 2010 from Jakarta Special Capital Region 4 crowned Maria Selena of Central Java at the end of this event at Plenary Hall, Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta. Maria Selena of Central Java is going to represent Indonesia at the Miss Universe 2012, while Liza Elly Purnamasari of East Java and Andi Tenri of South Sulawesi will represent the nation at the Miss International 2012 and the Miss Asia Pacific World 2012 respectively. The event was broadcast live on Indonesian television network, Indosiar. Miss Universe 2011, Leila Lopes, present during the event.

Historical significance

• Central Java won the title of Puteri Indonesia for the second times in history, Maria Selena also the first Chinese-Indonesian who took the title
• Yogyakarta Special Region, West Sumatera, and Jakarta SCR 5 also placed last year
• East Java and West Papua last placed in 2009
• North Sumatera, Jakarta SCR 2 last placed in 2008
• East Kalimantan last placed in 2002
• South Sulawesi last placed in 2001
• West Papua won Miss Congeniality for the second times
• For the first time in history, no contestant from Jakarta placed in the Top 5
• East Java, Liza Elly Purnamasari was Miss Indonesia Earth 2010 and supposed to represent Indonesia at Miss Earth 2010. But, there are some unknown reason from Miss Indonesia Earth Foundation about sending her to Miss Earth 2010, later the first runner up Jessica Tji sent off to Miss Earth 2010 in Vietnam.
