Punk Goes...

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Punk Goes... is a series of pop albums released by Fearless Records in which punk rock bands perform covers of songs from other genres. As of 2013, the series consists of thirteen compilation albums.

Punk Goes Acoustic, Punk Goes Acoustic 2, and Punk Goes Christmas are the only deviations from the covers theme. In the "Goes Acoustic" albums, the featured bands record acoustic versions of their own songs; and in Punk Goes Christmas, seven of the twelve artist featured, recorded their own original Christmas song. However, the 2000 compilation Punk Goes Metal notably features the song "Why Rock?", an original song by The Aquabats but credited to fictional band Leather Pyrate, marking the only original song to appear on a Punk Goes... compilation, excluding the aforementioned Acoustic and "Christmas" albums.
