Pulau Meranti
Pulau Meranti is the oldest village in PuchongSelangor, Malaysia. This village is located near Cyberjaya.Village to an area estimated at about more than 100 hectares;explored & founded by Dato' Biro Bin Jenangkin/'Gede'(means big;besar in java) Biro(a mixed Chinese/Malay origin from Palembang)in an era of 1890's before Japanese invasion in 1940's.Until today,the heir of Dato' Gede Biro from fourth to fifth level is still residing in this village & the original residents of this village dialects spoken conversations in everyday language palembang.
Pulau Meranti villaged is divided into 5 area : 1)Kampung Masjid (name given because the one & only mosque located in the village) 2)Kampung Pulau Meranti Dalam (Part of it is now new housing development Putra Perdana) 3)Pulau Ibol (was extinguished by the development) 4)Kampung Batu Sembilan 5)Kampung Sg Rasau
