Public cloud

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A public cloud is a set of computers and computer network resources based on the standard cloud computing model, in which a service provider makes resources, such as applications and storage, available to the general public over the Internet[1] . Public cloud services may be free or offered on a pay-per-usage model.[2]

Applications, storage, and other resources are made available to the general public by a service provider. There are service providers like Amazon, Microsoft or Google who own all infrastructure at their data center, as well as Cloud Brokers who aggregate infrastructure from multiple providers.
