Pratapgarh (formerly Partabgarh) was a princely state of Oudh, India.
History
The Pratapgarh state originally from Taroul or Tiraul. The ancestor of the royal family was Babu Sujan Shah, son of Raja Sangram Shah of Taroul. the member of Pratapgarh state were Talukdars.
Babu Pratap Singh, ruled as first Babu of Pratapgarh state between 1628 to 1682. He fixed his headquarter at Rampur near old town Aror. There Babu Pratap Singh built a fort (garh), which later city named after himself as Pratapgarh.[1]

Bhadri
Bhadri was a state near Kunda of Pratapgarh. the member of this Bhadri family were estate holders. Raja Uday Pratap Singh is current titular head of Bhadri.[2]
Kalakankar
The Kalakankar state located near Rampur and Dharupur village on the bank of river Ganges. The founder of Kalakankar royal dynasty was Raja Hom Mull of Majhauli, Gorakhpur.[3]
Manikpur
Manikpur was an old princely state of Pratapgarh district on the shore of Ganges. It was founded in 1080 by Raja Manik Chand, sibling of Maharaja Jaichand of Kannauj, later here ruled by Muslim empire.
