Prastuti Parashar (Porasor) (Assamese: প্ৰস্তুতি পৰাশৰ; born 15 December 1981) is an actress from Assam, India. She has acted in a number of Assamese movies and in stage dramas. She is one of most popular among all Assamese actresses.

Early life and education

Prastuti Parashar was born in Jorhat, Assam. she received her education in Jorhat. She studied in Balya Bhavan, Jorhat. She then completed her B.A at Handique Girls College. In an interview Prastuti said that she was a very bright student and wanted to be an engineer but later changed her decision and decided to become an actress. She was a tomboy during her school days.

Career

Her first movie was Maharathi. She has acted in many Assamese movies like: Tumi mur mathu mur, Asene Kunuba Hiyat, Priya O Priya, Aai Maram Tumar Babe, Gun Gun Gane Gane,Jakham, Prem Aru Prem, Jivan Nabir Duti Par, Dinabandhu, Barood, Rang, Raamdhenu etc.

Prastuti has also acted in many TV serials like: Barnali, Nisar Nayak, Chakrabehu, Mahanagarh, Jonakat Siharan, Major Sahab, Bindass and many more. Her Favourite Actor is Shahrukh Khan.

She has also won the best actress at Moonlight Awards for the year 2008-2009.
