Prambors FM

Prambors FM is a commercial radio network based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Launched on March 18, 1971 in Jakarta, the purpose of station was to play pop music with targeted is teenagers. In 1970s-1990s, Prambors was one of the teenagers icon in Jakarta.

History

The station founded by Imran Amir, Mursid Rustam, Malik Sjafei, Bambang Wahyudi, and Tri Tunggal. Late 1960s Prambors as the nickname one of the Menteng's geng, in the downtown Jakarta. Prambors is abbreviation Prambanan, Mendut, Borobudur & Sekitarnya, the name of street in Menteng, Central Jakarta. Started from amateur station, caused on government policy, Prambors changed to the commercial company, with the name PT Radio Prambors.

Program

Prambors has many creative and newly programs. Raised of Prambors started from LCLR (Lomba Cipta Lagu Remaja) program in 1977, brought Chrisye as the winner and to be favorite Indonesian pop singer. In 1980s, Catatan Si Boy drama series was the favorite program in Jakarta. Success in the radio listener, CSB upraised to the cinema. Beside on air program, Prambors has off air programs. Prambors Nite and Tenda Mangkal are favorite off air station's program.

Announcer

Announcer or known as Wadyabala Prambors always consist of young adult person. It make Prambors fresh, splashy and suite with young style. In 1970s, Warkop Prambors are the most success announcer, and made them raised to be comedian actor. In 1980s, Prambors had Pepeng, Sys NS, Jimmy Gideon, Nana Krip, Krisna Purwana, Muthia Kasim also Ferdy Hasan, Rebecca Tumewu, Fla Priscilla in 1990s who raised up to be television actor and presenter.

Station

Nowadays, Prambors have eight stations in Indonesian major cities, such as in Jakarta (102.2 FM), Bandung (98.4 FM), Semarang (99.2 FM), Surakarta (99.2 FM), Surabaya (89.3 FM), Yogyakarta (95.8 FM), Makassar (105.1 FM), and Medan (97.5 FM).
