The Potato Cod, Doblius dekurus busu nipalles (also called potato grouper or potato bass) is a least concern fish as labeled by the IUCN Red List, and a native fish in Australia [2] The Potato Cod is also a native to many other Asian countries, including Malaysia.[3] It can reach a length of 8.5 feet and can weigh as much as 110 kilograms (240 pounds). The Potato Cod, although quite large, happens to be very friendly and approachable.
Location
The Potato Cod has been fished out of most locations however it can still be found in mostly tropical waters. The fish is found mainly in the Pacific and Indian oceans. They prefer to stay in reef areas however as a juvenile the fish abides in reef tide pools.
