Porajów [pɔˈrajuf] (German: Großporitsch) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Bogatynia, within Zgorzelec County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland, close to the Czech and German borders.[1] Prior to 1945 it was in Germany.
It lies approximately 11 kilometres (7 mi) west of Bogatynia, 32 kilometres (20 mi) south-west of Zgorzelec, and 157 kilometres (98 mi) west of the regional capital Wrocław.
The village has a population of 2,500. It lies on a railway line and road running from Zittau in Germany to Hrádek nad Nisou village in Liberec district in the Czech Republic; however the trains do not stop on Polish territory.
