Popioły [pɔˈpjɔwɨ] (German: Popiollen, also Pappiollen) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Budry, within Węgorzewo County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland, close to the border with the Kaliningrad Oblast of Russia.[1] It lies approximately 6 kilometres (4 mi) south-east of Budry, 14 km (9 mi) east of Węgorzewo, and 107 km (66 mi) north-east of the regional capital Olsztyn.
Before 1945, the area was part of Germany (East Prussia).
