Pomaderris elliptica is a shrub species that is native to the states of New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania in Australia. Small pale yellow to yellow flowers appear between September and October in the species native range.[2][3] Two varieties are currently recognised:
- P. elliptica var. diemenica N.G.Walsh & Coates - Tasmanian Yellow Dogwood, endemic to Tasmania.[4]
- P. elliptica N.G.Walsh var. elliptica - Smooth Pomaderris (Victoria),[3] Yellow Dogwood (Tasmania)[4]
