Polyctenidae is a family of parasitic insects of the superfamily Cimicoidea that prefer bats as their host. These insects are not to be confused with bat bugs, which are members of the family Cimicidae. There appears to be a significant relationship between the family groups and the species of hosts that indicates co-evolution and specialization.[1]
