Politsi is a village some 13 km north-west of Tzaneen, in the district of Letaba. Named after its situation in the vicinity of the Mphuditsi River, the source of which is near a forest; the forest, ditsi, is seen as spitting (mphu) the river out. Politsi is thus an adaptation of mphuditsi or mphodutsi.[1]
