Poldasht (Persian: پلدشت; also Romanized as Pol Dasht, Pol’desht, Pol-e Dasht, and Pul Dasht; also known as Araplar)[1] is a city in and the capital of Poldasht County, West Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 8,584, in 2,205 families.[2] The city lies on the western bank of the Aras River.

Poldasht is a Persian word meaning arable land by the bridge. Adjacent to Poldasht city is the Aras River Dam and an Iranian border terminal.
