Podara is a census town under Sankrail police station in Sadar subdivision of Howrah district in the Indian state of West Bengal.[1]
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[2] Podara had a population of 16,806. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Podara has an average literacy rate of 78%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 81%, and female literacy is 73%. In Podara, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.
