Podalakur or Podhalakur is a town and a Mandal in Nellore district in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India.^[1][2]

Geography

Podalakur is located at 14°22′00″N 79°44′00″E / 14.3667°N 79.7333°E / 14.3667; 79.7333.^[3] It has an average elevation of 43 meters (141 feet).

The government lemon market is located in Podalakur, which gives supply to large cities like Delhi, Chennai, Hubli and Hyderabad.

At present, Podalakur belongs to Sarvepalli Constancy and before this, it was part of Rapur Constancy. The present MLA is Adala Prabhakar Reddy from congress.

As a part of its development a radar center is being constructed by central aviation authority of India in marupur village which comes under podulkur mandal. An excellent connectivity of roadways makes podulkur a business center as it is located in center and connects to Gudur,Nellore,Sangam,Rapur,somsilla etc.

Somasila Dam is Located 50 km from Podalakur, which is the main dam in the Nellore District.
