Plainfield Country Club

Plainfield Country Club is a private country club and golf course located in Edison, New Jersey. It was originally founded in 1890 as the Hillside Tennis Club, its golf course was designed in 1916 by famous golf course designer Donald Ross.[1] Since then, Plainfield Country Club has been home to the 1978 U.S. Amateur,[2] the 1987 U.S. Women's Open,[3] several state and regional championships, and has been ranked among the best in the country.[4] In 2011, it was home to The Barclays golf tournament, the first PGA Tour FedEx Cup playoff event.[1]
