Place Sainte-Foy

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Place Sainte-Foy is an upscale shopping mall in the Sainte-Foy–Sillery–Cap-Rouge borough of Quebec City. It is managed by Ivanhoe Cambridge, and owned in equal proportions by Ivanhoe Cambridge and Commerzbank AG.

The anchors are Les Ailes de la Mode, Simons, Signature Maurice Tanguay, Metro and Holt Renfrew. The mall has 135 stores including Archambault, Atmosphere, Gap, Zara, Birks, Swarovski, Lacoste, Parasuco, Aldo Groupe, Tommy Hilfiger and a Brunet pharmacy. The RBC is the sole bank in the mall. In the parking lot of the mall there is a Bovet store, an Omer Deserres store and a L'Académie restaurant; all three are considered tenants of Place Sainte-Foy.

The mall is situated next to Université Laval and to the shopping malls Laurier Québec and Place de la Cité.

Place Sainte-Foy, one of Ivanhoe Cambridge's oldest malls, was built by the preceding entity Ivanhoe Corporation in 1958. Its most prominent past anchors are Steinberg (1958-1992), Miracle Mart/M (1964-1992) and Eaton (1975-1999). The Simons store has been in the mall since 1961, making it one of the longest dating anchor stores in the province of Quebec. Holt Renfrew has been there since 1965.

On October 2010, Place Sainte-Foy completed its 2 years renovations which added an underground parking to the mall and increased the size of the Simons store.
