Pitcairnia alata is an epiphytic species of plant in the Bromeliaceae family. It is endemic to Ecuador, and was initially discovered along the Río Valladolid between Quebrada Honda and Tambo Valladolid. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. It is threatened by habitat loss.
