Pirassununga

Coordinates: 21°59′46″S 47°25′33″W / 21.99611°S 47.42583°W Pirassununga is a municipality in the state of São Paulo in Brazil. The population in 2010 was 70.081 and the area is 728.78 km². The elevation is 627 m. This place name comes from the Tupi language.
Important places located in the city are the Brazilian Air Force Academy and the University of São Paulo. The area is also important in the production of cachaça in Brazil.[citation needed]
