Piotrowice Nyskie [pjɔtrɔˈvit͡sɛ ˈnɨskʲɛ] (German Peterwitz) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Otmuchów, within Nysa County, Opole Voivodeship, in south-western Poland, close to the Czech border.[1] It lies approximately 7 kilometres (4 mi) south of Otmuchów, 15 km (9 mi) south-west of Nysa, and 63 km (39 mi) south-west of the regional capital Opole.

Before 1945 the area was part of Germany (see Territorial changes of Poland after World War II).

The village has a seventeenth-century former bishop's palace which is currently being restored by the author Jim Parton. [2]

An inn run by Emanuel Otte, circa 1930. The town was then called "Peterwitz," having been part of Germany.
