Pioneer Academy is a private school in Ghanzi, Botswana.
History
Pioneer Academy is Ghanzi's first private school, opened in 1993. It was initially a Dutch reformed church. Over the years, a new building was constructed and opened by his honour, President Festus Mogae. The school has remained there for the past few years.
It is commonly referred to as a 'rainbow' school, due to the myriad of ethnic groups co-existing within its walls. It is often used as a metaphor for Ghanzi, a place where any type of person is welcome, regardless of their race, religion etc.
