Pinus chiapensis is a pine tree species in the Pinaceae family, and is commonly known as Chiapas pine, in Spanish as Pino blanco, Pinabete, or Ocote.[1] It is native to Mexico and Guatemala, where it is found from 600 m up to 2200 m.[1] Introduced in Colombia, Brazil, Queensland, Australia and South Africa.[citation needed] It may grow to a height of 30-35 m.[2]
